UNZIP128 is a stand alone 128 utility that allows you to unzip PKZIP V1.xx archives. UNZIP128 runs in either 40 or 80 columns, and has all the features of UNZIP64, with the added support of a Dos command line (wedges) and CMD drive (Ramlink, Ramdrive, Hard drive, FDx000) path support. To use UNZIP128 just load and run it as a normal basic program, even though it is machine language program with a basic header. PAL or NTSC. I have also included a QPE subset version of UNZIP128 that runs under the BASIC program QPE (QWK Packet Extractor), written by myself with input from Russell Prater - the current moderator of the CBM FIDO ECHO. The purpose of QPE is to interface the UNZIP modules with the QWK offline reader QWKRR128 to create a more automated environment to process QWK mail packets. The machine language code for this is called UNZIP1.ML, UNZIP2.ML, and UNZIP3.ML. To use this option just load and run QPE instead of QWKRR128. See the documentation on QPE for further details. QPE PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: QPE IS A BASIC program written to interface with the Offline Readers QWKRR128 and QWKie 64 to create a more automated process of dealing with your QWK mail packets. You have the choice to un-ZIP (see note 1) or un-ARC (see note 2) your QWK packets. When QPE is run and the unpacking process is complete, either QWKRR128 is executed if you are in 128 mode, or QWKie 64 is executed if you are in 64 mode. * NOTE 1: Permission has been requested from Bill Lucier to allow the release of a special 64 unZIP module that runs under QPE, but permission has not been given as of yet, so for now the only 64 option is to use the CSX64.ml to un-ARC the QWK packets. If and when permission is granted, the 64 module can then be interfaced to QPE will no further modifications. I have offered this module to Bill Lucier so he can release it himself if that is more acceptable. As QPE is written it expects the 64 module to be called unzip4.ml. * NOTE 2: To un-ARC packets you need a separate program called CSX01.SDA (written by Chris Smeets). Included with CSX01.SDA are two machine language modules called CSX64.ML and CSX128.ML You need to copy these over to the same disk or partition as QPE is on - nothing else is required.
